Meeting between Kurti and Abdixhiku: We hope for an agreement

Kusari-Lila Emphasizes Agreement Needed to Prevent New Elections

The Minister of Industry, Enterprise, Trade and Innovation, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, has underscored the necessity of reaching a consensus on the presidential election process to avert further electoral instability and institutional delays. Speaking ahead of a scheduled meeting between leaders Albin Kurti of VV and Lumir Abdixhiku of LDK, Kusari-Lila stated that the current situation demands immediate resolution. The minister highlighted that Lëvizja Vetëvendosje remains the only political force to have presented specific proposals regarding the presidential designation.

According to her assessment, other parties have not yet offered clear initiatives for addressing the ongoing impasse. “During this period of time, only Kurti and VV have made proposals for the name of the president,” Kusari-Lila explained. “In no case until now have any of the meetings with PDK and LDK had concrete proposals or initiatives.”

The upcoming meeting represents a critical juncture in negotiations, with the government seeking to secure a pathway forward before considering potential new elections.

The focus remains on achieving a mutually agreeable solution to the presidential candidacy dispute.
