Milani will not pay the €5 million fine to Fullkrug, he will return to West Ham.

Milan Reverts Decision to Acquire Fullkrug for €5 Million

Milan will not be pursuing the option to purchase Niclas Fullkrug from West Ham United, effectively ending the striker’s loan spell at the club. The deal, initially valued at €5 million, is not expected to be activated. The decision follows Fullkrug’s limited impact with Milan since joining in January.

The forward arrived on loan as a temporary solution following unsuccessful medical tests for Jean-Philippe Mateta and the inability to secure alternative attacking reinforcements. During his 16 Serie A appearances, Fullkrug scored one goal – against Lecce on January 18 – and primarily operated as a substitute under Coach Massimiliano Allegri. Rafael Leon has frequently been utilized in the “False 9” role, impacting Fullkrug’s playing time.

Volkswagen has reportedly expressed interest in the attacker, though this has not influenced Milan’s final decision. The club has opted to revert to its existing squad options. The transfer of Fullkrug back to West Ham United is now confirmed, and the €5 million fee remains unspent.
