Minchev: We are not losers, we have gained an additional function

Goran Minchev, the Minister of Public Administration, addressed the media regarding recent criticisms leveled against the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy (ZNAM). Speaking to “Lokalno,” Minchev addressed reports suggesting that the Ministry’s importance was being questioned. He stated that these portrayals are the result of coordinated efforts by certain opposition media outlets over the past week.

Minchev asserted that the notion that the Ministry is unimportant is inaccurate. According to the Minister, the opposition’s recent campaign has aimed to diminish ZNAM’s standing during the ongoing governmental reconstruction process. He countered this narrative by emphasizing ZNAM’s unique and necessary role within the proposed structure.

Minchev highlighted that ZNAM is positioned as the only party contributing an added function to the reconstruction efforts and has accepted the responsibility of implementing its program within the Ministry. He suggested that this commitment is, in fact, solidifying a positive standing for ZNAM within the broader coalition framework. The statements from Minchev indicate a pushback against the opposition’s narrative.

He framed the sustained media coverage not as a critique of policy, but as an attempt to undermine the Ministry’s perceived value. Minchev’s comments aim to reassure the public and coalition partners that ZNAM’s participation is integral and viewed favorably within the current political arrangements, thereby refuting claims that the Ministry’s contribution is diminished or secondary.
