Mitrovica will establish the Innovation Center for Youth

The Mayor of the Municipality of South Mitrovica, Faton Peci, announced the establishment of a new Innovation Center dedicated to supporting the local youth population. The announcement was made during a conference organized by the Ministry of Sport and Youth, RYCO, GIZ, and attended by international partners and donors. The newly established center aims to significantly bolster the capacity of young people through structured, non-formal educational programs.

The curriculum will place a particular emphasis on developing proficiency in advanced technology and foreign languages. This targeted approach is designed specifically to facilitate a smooth and effective transition pathway from academic education into viable employment opportunities within the region. Speaking at the event, Mayor Peci underscored the critical role that the youth represent in the sustained economic development of the area.

He affirmed the municipality’s ongoing commitment to creating robust opportunities for both professional development and job placement. The creation of this specialized center in Mitrovica is positioned as a key initiative to equip the next generation of workers with the skills demanded by the modern job market. The initiative reflects a collaborative effort among governmental bodies and international donors to enhance human capital.

By focusing resources on skills acquisition, the municipality seeks to improve employment prospects for its young residents, solidifying the area’s economic future through dedicated educational infrastructure.
