Skenderaj Mayor Sami Lushtaku Commemorated Victims of Rezallë Tragedy
Skenderaj Mayor Sami Lushtaku attended a memorial for the victims of the Rezallë incident, expressing a desire for increased institutional support for families and the nation. Lushtaku stated that the event remains a significant tragedy for the Albanian people, demanding greater engagement from institutions in supporting those affected and the country as a whole. He emphasized that the suffering experienced by residents of Drenica and across Kosovo was a shared burden, impacting all Albanians who identify as such.
Lushtaku acknowledged the widespread violence and loss experienced within the region. “Citizens not just of Drenica, but of all of Kosovo, have experienced something profoundly difficult,” Lushtaku said. “We are seeking more, particularly the families, to ensure institutions are doing more for them and for the nation.” He underscored the need for continued support and remembrance following this devastating event.
