Mr. Mehmeti opposes the 10 euro tax for vehicles outside of Pristina, deeming it a violation of equality.

Jeton Mehmeti, speaking at the Guxo Party assembly within the Pristina Municipal Assembly, voiced strong disagreement with the proposed ten euro vehicle tax for vehicles registered outside the capital. He argued that this initiative fundamentally contradicts the core concept of equal treatment under the law. Mehmeti’s address centered on the detrimental impact of the proposal.

He asserted that it actively undermines the fair treatment of all citizens, irrespective of where they reside. “The proposed ten euro tax specifically for vehicles registered in Pristina, but not originating there, represents a legal violation of equality,” Mehmeti clearly stated. He underscored the importance of upholding consistent rights for all residents.

Citizens living beyond Pristina, he maintained, should not be subjected to differential treatment. They possess the same fundamental rights as any other citizen within the nation. Mehmeti emphasized that citizens residing outside Pristina are equally entitled to the protections afforded to all other nationals.

His argument focused on the principle of fairness and the need to ensure consistent application of regulations across the entire country.
