Mulliqi on Kosovo-US relations: We must adapt to any American administration

Gino Mulliqi, a representative of “Albanians for America,” observed that the level of attention Kosovo receives in Washington has diminished since the period spanning 1999 up to the declaration of its independence. Despite this perceived shift, Mulliqi maintained that the United States continues to function as Kosovo’s foremost strategic ally. Speaking during an interview on the “Përballje Podcast,” Mulliqi acknowledged that variations in the relations between Kosovo and the U.S.

are expected and inevitable. He cautioned against viewing these discrepancies as undermining the fundamental strategic direction of the nation. “The relationship between Kosovo and the United States always has different discrepancies and always will have them.

I think that where work is done, there are also discrepancies,” Mulliqi stated, as reported by Telegrafi. Mulliqi’s comments suggest an understanding that diplomatic and political interactions are subject to fluctuating dynamics. While acknowledging current gaps in focus from the U.S.

government, the representative underscored the enduring importance of the partnership. The remarks aim to reassure stakeholders that transient differences in engagement should not alter the foundational strategic alliance between Kosovo and the United States.
