Valon Murseli, a PDK assemblyman representing Lushnjë-Kosovo, has publicly voiced concerns regarding the pricing structure outlined in the contract for the development of a new municipal park. Murseli noted that his advocacy for the utilization of this specific area has been ongoing since the Communal Council’s initial session. He acknowledged the positive development, stating that while he has consistently pushed for the release of the space to the community, he appreciates the overall investment aimed at creating a public park.
“Since the first session, I have demanded that this space be freed and returned to the citizens. Today, this space is being turned into a park for the citizens, an investment that I appreciate,” Murseli stated. Despite this acknowledgment of the community benefit, Murseli shifted focus to the financial details of the project.
He specifically raised questions about the unit costs and pricing associated with several items included in the contracts awarded by the Municipality. According to Murseli, the primary area of concern involves the financial vetting of these procured goods and services. He emphasized the need for scrutiny regarding the contracted rates.
“What worries me and what we need to be careful about are the prices contracted by the Municipality for several items,” declared Murseli. His statements underscore a call for greater fiscal transparency in the execution of the park development, ensuring that the investment remains sound for the municipality.
