Mystery of 34-year-old Eglant Koçi: New details emerge suggesting he was executed by a close friend

Five days after the reported disappearance of 34-year-old Eglent Koçi, the Tirana Police have identified a suspect, alleging that a close friend was responsible for his death. The investigation began following a report filed by Koçi’s family on the morning of June 4th. The police initiated a comprehensive review of security camera footage, securing recordings from the area around Sheshi Wilson and extending toward Zhan D’Ark Boulevard.

Koçi was last seen near an establishment belonging to an acquaintance, after which he was never seen again. Through an examination of on-site evidence and the retrieved video footage, the police have reportedly found material supporting suspicions that Koçi was murdered and that his body was subsequently transported and disposed of in a vehicle. The focus of the investigation has centered on Koçi’s friend, Armand Shakaj.

In connection with the ongoing inquiry, authorities have taken action against a witness named Enea Zyferi. Zyferi, who was employed as a waiter at a bar owned by the author and situated near the location of the incident, has been arrested as an alleged accomplice. The police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance, which occurred in the current year.

The findings suggest a pattern of suspicious activity involving the friend and the subsequent disposal of the body. Authorities are currently managing the evidence gathered to build a formal case.
