Belgium is scheduled to deploy around 30 military personnel to the autonomous territory of Greenland in early September. This deployment is part of the newly established NATO mission, Arctic Sentry, as confirmed by Defence Minister Theo Francken to Belgian broadcaster VTM. The contingent will comprise troops from the 1st Brigade, based in Leopoldsburg, alongside members of the Belgian Special Forces.
