The State Police have released footage detailing an operation codenamed “Illegal Trade,” which targeted illicit commerce in Tirana. During this enforcement action, nine administrators were processed in connection with the smuggling of luxury brand clothing and accessories. According to the police, the “Illegal Trade” operation was concluded following extensive verifications and investigations conducted by specialists from the Section for Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime.
These efforts were specifically aimed at addressing illegal activities within the economic and financial sectors, carried out in cooperation with the Prosecutor’s Office. As part of the investigation, and in adherence to a court directive, inspections were conducted across eight entities operating within the luxury brand product trade. During these inspections, authorities successfully seized various items lacking proper accompanying documentation.
The seized materials included sixteen mobile phones, ten computer units, one laptop, and eleven items of luxury brand bags and clothing. The police confirmed that the scope of the operation highlighted systemic issues regarding the trafficking of high-value goods. The seizure of electronics and merchandise underscores the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat illegal trade networks operating under the guise of legitimate commerce.
The findings from the investigation are expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to regulate and secure the market against fraudulent and smuggling activities.
