Nineteen patients presented to the infectious disease department and fourteen patients were seen in pediatrics in Gostivar exhibiting symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and body rash. Following examination, the majority of these patients were discharged for home treatment. However, two individuals presenting with more severe symptoms required hospitalization.
Hospital Director Emri Bajrami stated to TV21 that these figures are considered normal for the current season and are not indicative of any specific viral outbreak. He provided updated statistics, noting that in the last 24 hours, only 11 patients sought medical attention in the infectious disease department, and 14 patients were seen in the pediatrics department. Bajrami indicated a noticeable decrease in the overall number of patients presenting for care.
Furthermore, he reported that the infectious disease department currently has only two hospitalized cases, and these individuals are experiencing mild symptoms. These reports suggest that the current influx of patients in Gostivar remains within expected seasonal parameters. The hospital administration emphasized that the current caseload does not suggest a link to any particular viral agent.
The management continues to monitor the situation while managing the discharged and hospitalized cases.
