Osmani from Dragash: There cannot be an equal Kosovo when the mountain communities feel distant from decision-making

During an electoral tour held in Dragash, Vjosa Osmani, the sixth President of Kosovo and LDK’s candidate for a second presidential term, addressed concerns regarding regional equity within the country. Osmani praised the cooperation and hard work demonstrated by the communities in the Sharri region, while simultaneously calling for heightened state investment and attention for the area. A central theme of her address was the necessity of translating the natural, touristic, and human potential of Sharri into tangible economic development.

She asserted that this development is crucial to mitigating the trend of youth emigration from the region. Osmani argued that the allocation of essential public services—including infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities—should be determined by the genuine needs of the citizenry rather than by their proximity to centers of political power. According to her statements in Dragash, achieving true national equality within Kosovo requires that all communities feel actively involved in the decision-making processes that shape the state.

The former President maintained that the development model for Kosovo must be inclusive. She emphasized that for the nation to progress equitably, the state apparatus must ensure that resources are distributed based on demonstrable need across all geographical areas, thereby strengthening the foundations of the republic.
