Brother of Victim Seeks Life Sentences in Liridona Ademaj Murder Case
Leonard Ademaj, brother of the late Liridona Ademaj, presented a final statement today at the Basic Court of Pristina, formally requesting a permanent life sentence for Naim Murseli, Granit Plava, and Kushtrim Kokalla in connection with her murder. During his statement, Mr. Ademaj expressed profound grief and emphasized the lasting impact of his sister’s death.
He stated that “on the day of Liridona’s murder, half of our soul and life fled with us.” He argued that the defendants still held the responsibility to determine the future safety and well-being of his family and the broader community. “Any other sentence insults and denigrates Liridona, the country, our society, and the conscience of our people for this macabre crime,” Mr. Ademaj declared.
He continued, “Only the suffering of the sentence will alleviate it.”
The family’s request reflects the severity of the crime and the desire for justice following the loss of Liridona Ademaj. The court is expected to consider the arguments presented before rendering a final verdict.
