The Basic Prosecutor’s Office in Ferizaj has initiated investigations concerning suspected cases of poisoning affecting multiple individuals at the Han e Elezit facility. According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the State Prosecutor has authorized the Kosovo Police to conduct necessary investigative actions in relation to the matter. The office stated that upon receiving notification of the incident, the State Prosecutor directed and authorized the Police to carry out the required investigation, and the Sanitary Inspectorate has also been informed.
The investigation focuses on the potential criminal act of “Production and circulation of articles.” In connection with the facility, the Kosovo Ministry of Health (QKMF) reported that since April 13, there have been 90 documented instances of vomiting and diarrhea among patients. Three individuals required transfer to the Tutje Infectious Clinic due to these symptoms. The prosecutor’s involvement underscores the seriousness with which the authorities are treating the situation.
The ongoing case is being managed to determine the source and nature of the suspected poisoning. Authorities are coordinating efforts between the police, the sanitary inspectorate, and the prosecutor’s office to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the reported illnesses. The objective of the current case is to establish accountability regarding the potential contamination or unsafe practices at the facility.
