Parim Olluri voiced concerns regarding Kosovo’s current situation, highlighting a troubling parallel between escalating political disputes and ongoing criminal activity. Appearing on T7’s “Pressing” program on Wednesday, journalist Parim Olluri sharply criticized the Vetëvendosje Movement for a perceived unwillingness to pursue political compromise. He emphasized that Kosovo possesses a strong tradition of finding common ground through negotiation.
However, Olluri argued that this positive history is being undermined by the current climate. He asserted that criminal activity persists despite the country’s involvement in unproductive debates. The focus, according to Olluri, is increasingly centered on institutional blockades rather than addressing substantive issues.
Specifically, he pointed to the lack of attention given to critical concerns like electricity prices. Olluri stated that, had circumstances been normal, Kosovo would have tackled several other important matters. He further noted that the speaker of parliament’s delay in addressing these issues has nearly a year passed, and that the good history Kosovo has had with political compromise is now being broken.
Parim olluri believes that a return to productive dialogue is essential for the country’s future.
