The acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, addressed the public during the construction of the third bridge spanning the Ibar River in Mitrovica. Speaking at the site, Kurti detailed the comprehensive specifications of the planned infrastructure project, emphasizing its role in enhancing regional connectivity and security. According to the statement, the new bridge structure is designed to measure 65 meters in length and 22.5 meters in width.
Kurti specified that the substantial width is necessary to accommodate four dedicated vehicular lanes, each measuring 3.5 meters, alongside pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. Beyond the main crossing, the overall project scope includes the construction of two major roundabouts. Furthermore, the associated roadway development will feature a 500-meter segment that also incorporates four lanes of 3.5 meters each, complemented by necessary sidewalks.
The remarks were made in the context of governmental oversight, with the Prime Minister referencing discussions that have taken place within the Parliament regarding the necessity of modernizing critical transport links.
