Çlirim Gërbeshi, a member of the Albanian Movement Assembly, stated that the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) is consolidating its influence within Pristina’s municipal institutions. According to Gërbeshi, the PDK has expanded its control, reportedly gaining command over four municipal enterprises, in addition to its previously established majority within the capital’s directorates. In a statement, Gërbeshi noted that following the acquisition of the directorate majority, the PDK subsequently secured control over these four municipal enterprises in Pristina.
He attributed this development to political agreements reached during the recent Pristina elections. Specifically, he asserted that this consolidation represented a consequence of the support provided by the PDK to Përparim Rama during the election process. Furthermore, Gërbeshi claimed that the PDK’s overall influence within Pristina currently exceeds that of the LDK.
He stated that, beyond the control of these four enterprises, the PDK now holds a greater degree of power in the capital compared to its political rival. These statements suggest a significant shift in the power dynamics among major political actors within Pristina’s local governance structures.
