The dormitory, which previously accommodated approximately 1,000 students from various settlements across Macedonia, exhibits noticeable signs of uncleanliness in all areas.
According to reports, while the Ministry of Education has announced plans to renovate the Pellagonia dormitory over a two-year period, the necessary tender process has not yet been finalized. This delay has created immediate concerns regarding housing for the upcoming academic year. Journalist Adnan Qaili reported that, despite the planned capacity for around 1,000 students by September 15th, approximately 500 Albanian students currently face uncertainty regarding their accommodation arrangements.
The dormitory director, Orhan Aliu, was also cited in relation to the ongoing situation. The facility’s current condition raises questions about the timeline for necessary repairs and student relocation. The need for timely action is highlighted by the number of students whose housing security is currently unresolved.
