Person arrested in Junik for unauthorized possession of weapon

Authorities in Junik conducted an operation following reports concerning the possession of weapons deemed unauthorized. According to a notice issued by the Kosovo Police, the Junik Police Station received notification on June 23, 2026, regarding an individual suspected of possessing weapons without proper authorization. In response to the report, the local police initiated immediate action.

The following day, June 24, 2026, the police, working in coordination with the State Prosecutor’s office, conducted a search at the suspect’s residence within Junik. During the execution of the search warrant, law enforcement personnel successfully seized several items, including one pistol, an ammunition magazine, and a total of 13 bullets. The individual involved was subsequently taken into custody by the police.

After the necessary questioning by investigating officers, the State Prosecutor determined the appropriate legal procedure. Consequently, the suspect was released from custody according to the official police notice. The operation underscores the ongoing efforts by the police to enforce regulations regarding the possession of firearms within the region.
