The Kosovo Police in the Gjilan Region conducted a coordinating meeting with the Local Security Committee (KLSB) of the village of Pogragjë on February 8th. The session took place at the Citizen Contact Office and focused on critical community safety issues, specifically drug abuse prevention and fire safety protocols. The meeting was facilitated by Fatos Latifi, the Coordinator of Community and Prevention Projects at the Regional Police Directorate in Gjilan, alongside Avdil Islami, the head of the Pogragjë KLSB.
Participants engaged in a comprehensive discussion regarding the general local security situation within the village. A primary focus of the coordination effort was the implementation of the “Action Plan ‘Stop Drugs 2026.'” Through this plan, the police and local committee aimed to significantly increase awareness among both youth and the broader community regarding the inherent risks and severe consequences associated with substance abuse. The coordination emphasized multi-agency cooperation to maintain a stable environment.
By uniting the efforts of the police force with the insights of the local security committee, stakeholders developed strategies to enhance community resilience. The meeting underscored the importance of proactive measures, ensuring that preventative efforts are integrated into the daily life of the community to bolster overall public security.
