Police in Peja fine Albanian motorcyclists 375 times during August

The Regional Police in Peja issued a total of 375 fines to motorcycle drivers between August 1 and August 23, 2026. According to a statement from the Police, these enforcement actions were carried out by the Regional Police Directorate in Peja, the Regional Traffic Unit, local police stations, and the Rapid Response Unit. The operations were focused on enhancing accident prevention and ensuring adherence to traffic regulations.

The fines were issued for a range of traffic infractions. Common violations cited included operating a motorcycle without the requisite driver’s license, operating the vehicle without proper registration, and failing to wear a helmet. The Police reported that these field activities are scheduled to continue in the coming days.

A representative stated that the Regional Police Directorate in Peja remains committed to ongoing field operations aimed at accident prevention. Furthermore, the Police emphasized that there will be zero tolerance for any traffic violations moving forward.
