Kosovo police intervened today following an incident in the village of Shtime, where an elderly man fell into a deep well. According to official police statements, the accident occurred while the elderly resident was reportedly watering his garden within his property. The precise cause of the fall into the well remains undetermined.
Upon receiving notification of the incident, multiple police units were dispatched to the location to manage the rescue operation. Rescue efforts required specialized intervention due to the depth of the structure. Officers reported that the well measured approximately ten meters deep.
One police officer entered the shaft to secure the man using a rope, while two additional officers managed the subsequent retrieval process, successfully bringing the elderly individual to safety. Following the successful extraction, medical personnel attended to the man. He was initially transported to the Central Family Medicine Center in Shtime to receive immediate medical assessment and care.
Subsequently, he was transferred to the Emergency Center for further evaluation. The prompt response from the police ensured the safe rescue of the elderly man from the deep well.
