Police will interview two local shop owners in the Elysium Bazaar following suspicions of poisoning

The Kosovo Police have launched an official investigation into reports of potential food poisoning at the Han e Elezit facility. Dozens of individuals sought medical attention after experiencing symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. The confirmation of the investigation came from Kanun Veseli, the police spokesperson for the Ferizaj region.

According to Veseli, the action was taken after the Investigation Unit at Han e Elezit contacted the State Prosecutor around 1:40 PM today. Following this notification, the State Prosecutor issued an order to initiate a formal case. This case pertains to the criminal act of “Production and circulation of harmful food items.”

The police spokesperson confirmed the procedural steps taken, stating, “Regarding the reported case, today around 1:40 PM, the Investigation Unit at Han e Elezit contacted the state prosecutor, and by his order, a case for investigation into ‘Production and circulation of harmful food items’ has been initiated.”

The police are actively investigating the source of the illness, focusing on whether contaminated food contributed to the widespread sickness.

The establishment of a criminal case indicates that authorities are treating the matter seriously, suggesting potential violations related to food safety standards and public health.
