Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti will not attend Friday’s session of the Kosovo Parliament due to a scheduled meeting with leaders of the Kosovo Democratic League (LDK), specifically Lumir Abdixhikun. The meeting will focus on discussions surrounding a potential visit by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić. Kurti stated his intention to be present at the parliamentary session but will be unable to participate in the discussions with the LDK leadership.
This absence is due to the ongoing meeting with Abdixhikun and the LDK. Last Saturday, former President Vjosa Osmani formally transferred power to Albulena Haxhiu. The Constitutional Court has set a deadline of April 28th for Kosovo Parliament deputies to elect a new president.
Following parliamentary elections on December 28th of last year, Vetëvendosje secured over 51% of the vote.
