Protesters gather at the Albanian Parliament, personalize eggs with the names of deputies

Protesters gathered outside the Albanian parliament today, despite the plenary session not having commenced. A significant number of demonstrators assembled near the rear section of the parliament building, chanting slogans such as “Parliament of crime” as socialist deputies and ministers arrived at the institution. Some of the protesters were observed carrying eggs, on which they had written the names of various deputies, and also bringing collars.

According to reports, some demonstrators indicated a shift in their approach, stating they would no longer throw eggs but would instead hand them over, asking the deputies to break them voluntarily. In the courtyard area, chants demanding that “Rama step down” were audible. Following these chants, police intervened, directing the demonstrators to move away from the outer courtyard of the parliament.

The gathering highlighted ongoing political tension surrounding the legislative body and its elected officials.
