Putin fears, Russia concentrates air defenses around Moscow

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has reportedly ordered Ukrainian intelligence services and armed forces to take preemptive measures against facilities believed to be supporting Russia’s military expansion. In a public statement, Zelensky alleged that the Russian leadership is concentrating significant air defense assets in areas including Moscow, Valdai, and near the Kerch Strait bridge, thereby weakening defenses in other parts of Ukraine. He claimed that hundreds of launchers for advanced systems such as S-400, S-500, and Pantsir have accumulated solely in the Moscow region.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian leader stated that Russia has reportedly moved nearly 90 air defense launchers to Valdai and is establishing a specialized unit to safeguard the state leadership. Zelensky asserted that these actions indicate Russia’s focus is on protecting its internal power structure and the origins of the conflict. The President also reported that over 60 Russian regions are experiencing fuel shortages, coupled with substantial increases in gasoline and diesel prices.

In a separate claim, Zelensky stated that Russian security services are contemplating postponing or canceling the selection process for candidates for the ruling United Russia party ahead of upcoming parliamentary elections. According to Ukrainian intelligence data cited by Zelensky, Russian authorities appear uncertain regarding developments scheduled through September, which is when the State Duma’s electoral procedures are set to take place. Zelensky concluded by stating that Ukraine is already targeting facilities deep within Russia, countering any potential narrative from putin or russia.
