The government will hold an extraordinary session today at 11:00 AM to discuss rising fuel prices, in anticipation of a potential further increase due to global oil market volatility. Following the session, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski will hold a press conference to outline the decisions made. Earlier today, Mickoski announced that the government would take a decision to reduce excise taxes, aiming to alleviate price pressure and prevent further increases.
“According to these calculations, oil should have been around 7 denars, and gasoline between 1.5 and 2 denars,” Mickoski stated. “The conditions for reducing excise taxes have been met – for oil by 4 denars per liter, and for gasoline by 2 denars per liter.”
