QMK: 22 fires extinguished over an open area in 24 hours

The Center for Crisis Management (CCM) reported in its morning update, covering the period up to 7:30 AM, that a total of 22 instances of fires were recorded in open areas across Macedonia over the previous 24 hours. The CCM confirmed that all reported incidents have been successfully extinguished. Furthermore, the agency stated that there are currently no active or uncontrolled fires, indicating that all interventions have reached full completion.

The incidents occurred across numerous municipalities, including Çuçer Sandevo, Karposh, Gazi Babë, Gjorçe Petrov, Manastir, Prilep, Strugë, Kriva Pallankë, Tetovë, Zhelinë, Kavadar, Kumanovë, Qendër, Haraçinë, and Gostivar. The majority of the reported fires were linked to low vegetation, dry grass, and shrubs. Contributing sources also included uncontrolled burning in dumpsites, wood burning, and one recorded fire within a degraded forest area.

The successful management of these 22 incidents underscores the comprehensive response effort undertaken by emergency services. The report confirms that the status of all monitored fires is now resolved, with all sites having been safely extinguished.
