Reshitaj: I voted for the President without asking for anything in return and I think that is appreciated by the citizens

Albena Reshitaj, a candidate for deputy representing the Democratic League of Kosovo, issued a statement during a press conference held at T7. In the statement, Reshitaj emphasized that her decision-making process when contributing to national interests is not motivated by personal benefit. As an example of this principle, she specifically referenced her participation in the parliamentary vote for the office of President.

Reshitaj highlighted that when she voted for Vjosa Osmani to become President of the Republic of Kosovo, she did so without expecting any reciprocal advantage. According to Reshitaj, this action was intended to set a standard for other deputies. She stated that by making this vote—one she characterized as selfless—she aimed to demonstrate that legislative decisions can be guided purely by the country’s best interests rather than by personal gain.

She expressed her belief that this commitment to national welfare is something the citizenry recognizes and values. The remarks underscore Reshitaj’s stated commitment to principled political action within the legislative body.
