The EC Ma Ndryshe has recommenced its “One Wish For My Street” initiative within the Arbanë neighborhood of Prizren. The program is designed to gather input from local residents concerning the condition of public spaces and overall quality of life within the community. During recent engagement sessions, staff met with inhabitants across key thoroughfares, including “Ismet Gashi,” “Afrim Bytyqi,” and “Ismail Qemali” streets, as well as adjacent areas.
A neighborhood map served as a tool during these meetings, allowing citizens to visually pinpoint existing problems and formally submit their suggestions for improvement. The primary concerns raised by the residents highlighted several deficiencies in local infrastructure. Key requests focused on enhancing public safety and amenity, specifically citing the need for improved public lighting, the installation of adequate waste bins, and the creation of dedicated bicycle paths and children’s playgrounds.
Furthermore, the community expressed a desire for increased recreational capacity. Suggestions included the development of more green areas, organized tree planting efforts, and the strategic placement of public seating. Beyond these physical improvements, residents also voiced general concerns regarding community safety within the Prizren area.
The initiative continues to document these needs, aiming to guide future development and revitalization efforts for the neighborhood’s shared spaces.
