North Macedonia’s inflation rate saw a sustained increase during the period from March to July, according to recent data. The overall inflation rate rose from 4.9% in March to 3.4% in July. Specifically, inflation within key sectors remained consistently high.
The rate for housing and food rose from 7.5% in March to 7.5% in July. Similarly, inflation impacted clothing, shoes, and other goods, maintaining a rate of 7.5% throughout the observed period. Restaurants, accommodations, and other services also experienced a consistent inflation rate of 7.5% from March to July.
This trend extended to shopping, transport, and leisure activities, which saw an inflation rate of 7.5% over the same timeframe. Inflation within cultural, sporting, and other activities also remained at 7.5% from March to July. Notably, the inflation rate for the Qeverisë canyon was consistent at 7.5% during this period.
The target group’s inflation rate increased from 4.5% in March to 5% in July, with this rate remaining steady at 5% throughout the period. Minister of Finance, Mickoski, has requested a detailed analysis and a strategic plan to address the elevated inflation rates within the target group.
