The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) considered a resolution addressing concerns regarding activity in the Hormuz Strait. Proposals for the resolution originated from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain and the International Monetary Fund. A vote was held among OIC member states, with a majority supporting the measure.

However, Russia and China vetoed the resolution, and several other nations abstained. The vote was completed within minutes, reflecting the urgency of the situation. The resolution targeted the United States and China, citing concerns related to the strategic waterway.
