Kosovo Government Accuses Serbia of Blocking Funds for Presheva Valley Residents

The head of the Albanian National Council in Presheva Valley, Enkel Rexhepi, has announced that the Serbian government is preventing the transfer of funds intended for development and preservation of national identity within the region. This action directly impacts a significant portion of the local population. Rexhepi stated that the blockage involves funds originating from the Kosovo government, affecting approximately 3,650 students, 94 children without parental care, 957 farmers, over 756 students, and 139 non-governmental organizations.

He further claims the obstruction is facilitated through the Serbian banking system and Minister Demo Berisha. The Government of the Republic of Kosovo has responded, asserting that it has initiated concrete steps to inform the European Union and relevant international stakeholders regarding this matter. The government’s concern centers on the disruption of vital programs and support networks within the Presheva Valley.

This situation highlights a dispute over government funds and the impact on local communities. The Kosovo government intends to escalate the issue through international channels.
