A serious accident occurred on the Gjirokastër-Tepelenë axis involving a motorcyclist. The incident took place at the Viroit bend when the motorcyclist collided with a mule after reportedly entering the animal’s path. As a result of the collision, the motorcyclist sustained a severe injury, losing his left leg.
Emergency services responded to the scene. Police reported that the injured individual was identified as a 34-year-old Greek male with the initials J.K. Authorities confirmed that the injured person was airlifted by helicopter to Tirana, where his condition is currently stable.
Additionally, the driver of a type champion vehicle, identified as a 54-year-old male with the initials E.K., was taken to the police station to address further actions related to the accident. Preliminary information from the Gjirokastër area indicated the event occurred around 5:30 PM on the “Gjirokastër-Kakavijë” road axis at the Viroit Bend.
