Starting June 19, a 24-hour winter marathon, MPB with actions against drivers who drive under the influence of alcohol and drugs

The Macedonian Police Directorate has announced a series of intensified safety measures concerning transportation across the nation. As part of the European ROADPOL action, the Ministry of Interior will deploy its police stations to conduct rigorous road communication safety checks from June 15 through June 21. These heightened controls are specifically designed to detect and penalize drivers operating vehicles while impaired by alcohol or narcotics.

The scope of the operation includes a significant event scheduled for June 19. On this date, a 24-hour road marathon will take place throughout the state’s territory. During this marathon, the police presence will be substantially increased, facilitating intensive checks aimed at identifying violations related to substance impairment.

Authorities emphasized that maintaining road safety is a collective duty. Consequently, the police have issued a strong appeal to all road users. The public is urged to refrain from operating any vehicle if they have consumed alcohol or any controlled substances.

These proactive measures underscore the commitment of the police to ensuring safer travel conditions across all major road networks during the month of June.
