MP Stojanovska Attributes Opposition Blocking of Law to Strategic Amendment Strategy
Skopje – MP Dafina Stojanovska of the OBRM-PDUKM-së party stated that the opposition was deliberately obstructing the passage of the law on the Political System Commission through a significant volume of amendments. Speaking to Alsat television, Stojanovska accused the opposition of utilizing a strategy designed to stall the legislation. The core of the dispute centers around accusations leveled by SDSM that Stojanovska’s party was involved in the Bulgarian parliamentary elections.
Stojanovska indicated that the primary impetus for introducing the law stemmed from these allegations. According to Stojanovska, the opposition submitted a substantial number of amendments, with the European Front contributing 16, SDSM 2, and colleague Bejxhan Iljas submitting over 100. She highlighted a provision within the new regulatory framework that permits extensive amendment submission, effectively enabling a tactic known as “filibustering.”
“We will determine the continuation of the commission,” Stojanovska stated, “but this law is susceptible to obstruction through this method.” Stojanovska further suggested that the inclusion of the Constitutional Court in the ongoing debate would be beneficial.
The discussion regarding the declaration remains unresolved.
