Stolen abroad, 13 diamond-studded necklaces and over 15 kg of gold from various brands are seized – State Police publishes images

The State Police have announced the successful conclusion of a major operation codenamed “Stolen Gold.” This initiative resulted in the dismantling of a sophisticated criminal network involved in the trafficking and trade of valuables suspected to have been stolen outside of the country. According to police reports, the criminal enterprise operated by moving goods secured in Italy and Greece, smuggling them into Albania, and subsequently trading them through jewelers operating in Fier and Lushnjë. In connection with the investigation, police apprehended a 27-year-old male, identified as D.S., a resident of Kreshpan in Fier.

Authorities are also actively searching for a 45-year-old male suspected of involvement in these illegal activities. Furthermore, seven jewelers have been criminally charged in relation to the scheme. The operation yielded significant seizures, including 15 kg and 259 grams of gold, 4 kg and 281 grams of silver, 612 watches, 13 diamond-studded necklaces, and various items believed to hold artistic value.

The seizure underscores the scope of the organized crime targeted by the police. The investigation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat the illicit trade of stolen goods and precious metals.
