Storm and hail hit Istog, causing damage to agriculture

A storm accompanied by strong winds impacted the Istog region on Monday afternoon, resulting in visible damage across several areas. Local media reports indicate significant agricultural damage, although a precise monetary assessment of the weather-related losses has not been established. In related weather advisories, the Kosovo Hydrometeorological Institute had previously forecast generally sunny conditions for the morning.

However, the forecast did predict an increase in weather activity during the afternoon across various parts of the country, including thunderstorms, localized rain showers, and lightning strikes. Regarding temperature expectations, minimum temperatures were projected to fall between 13 and 18 degrees Celsius, with maximum temperatures anticipated to range from 29 to 33 degrees Celsius. Wind conditions were forecast to be light to moderate, originating from the southwest and west, with sustained speeds expected between 2 and 8 meters per second.

Furthermore, the institute noted that temporary increases in wind speed were anticipated as the weather system developed. The combination of the strong winds and subsequent weather events contributed to the reported damage in the Istog region.
