Strong winds and hail have caused significant damage to the viticulture sector across several regions of Kosovo. Nexhat Krasniqi, a viticulturist, reported that the severe weather impacted a site where he had planted grapevines in the village of Dush. In a statement, Krasniqi noted that the combination of strong winds and hail inflicted considerable damage upon the grapevines, making the process of returning them to their original positions difficult.
He elaborated that natural disasters, specifically strong winds accompanied by hail, have resulted in major damage to numerous agricultural crops in certain areas. Regarding his specific situation, he stated that the most significant damage was observed on the grapevines at one of his planting locations. Krasniqi added that the effort required to reposition the damaged grapevines back to their previous sites was substantial.
The adverse weather conditions have presented a considerable challenge to local agricultural producers, highlighting the vulnerability of key sectors like viticulture to extreme atmospheric events. The damage sustained underscores the immediate need for recovery efforts and assessment of the impact across the agricultural landscape following the strong winds and hailstorm.
