Suhareka forms committees to assess storm damage, Muharremaj urges caution from citizens

The Mayor of Suharekë Municipality, Bali Muharremaj, has announced the formation of specialized committees tasked with comprehensively documenting and assessing the damage resulting from recent severe storms and heavy rainfall across the municipality. According to Muharremaj, the assessment process will cover a wide range of critical areas to ensure a thorough evaluation of the impact. The scope of the damage assessment includes, but is not limited to, the agricultural sector, public and educational infrastructure, local businesses, public spaces, and all other zones impacted by the adverse atmospheric conditions.

To execute this task, the newly formed committees will work in direct coordination with the respective village mayors. Their mandate involves conducting physical site visits to observe the current conditions firsthand and meticulously document the extent of the resulting damage. “The committees, established in consultation with the village mayors, will be deploying into the field to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the existing conditions and the damage incurred,” stated Muharremaj.

The municipality’s leadership emphasized the necessity of this systematic review to gauge the full scale of the disruption. The comprehensive efforts aim to provide a factual basis for recovery planning. In light of the ongoing assessment and the challenging weather conditions, the Mayor of Suharekë has issued a public advisory, urging all residents and workers to exercise increased caution in their daily activities.
