Sveçla accuses Rama and the majority assemblymen in Pristina of avoiding discussion on the audit report

Gëzim Sveçla, the leader of the Vetëvendosje Movement assembly group within the Pristina Communal Council, publicly addressed the omission of the General Audit Report from the day’s scheduled discussions. In a statement released via Facebook, Sveçla pointed out a discrepancy between the council’s planned activities and the actual meeting agenda. According to Sveçla, the review of the General Audit Report was an item that had been specified within the Capital Council’s annual work plan.

He expressed concern that despite this prior scheduling, the critical topic was notably absent from the agenda for the day’s session. Sveçla stated that the Vetëvendosje Movement group had formally requested that the council address the findings of the audit report with immediate priority. He indicated that this request, aimed at ensuring thorough oversight, was not accommodated during the proceedings.

The omission of the comprehensive audit report for discussion has prompted questions regarding the council’s commitment to transparency and accountability in Pristina. The central point of contention revolves around the procedural failure to integrate a document deemed essential for governance into the daily deliberations. This highlights a procedural dispute concerning the timely review and discussion of official financial and administrative findings by the municipal body.
