Technical problems at the “Tabanocë” border crossing create long vehicle queues

Long queues of vehicles have been observed crossing the international border at the “Tabanocë” crossing point connecting North Macedonia and Serbia. Reports indicated that several columns of vehicles experienced delays exceeding an hour while attempting to enter Serbia. In response to the congestion, the Ministry of Interior issued a statement clarifying the cause of the slowdown.

The ministry confirmed that the delays were attributed to operational issues at the common border point with the Republic of Serbia. Officials stated that the system processing entries into Serbia was experiencing technical difficulties, which were slowing down standard procedures. The Ministry emphasized that relevant services are currently implementing intensive measures to resolve the technical issues.

They assured the public that efforts are underway to normalize the system’s operation and restore normal traffic flow at the border crossing as quickly as possible. This incident highlights the potential impact of infrastructure or system malfunctions on cross-border travel. While the delay caused significant backups, authorities maintained that the situation was due to technical problems with the processing system rather than external operational constraints.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure the smooth passage of travelers and goods through the border crossing into Serbia.
