Telegram returns to Apple Watch

Telegram has announced the return of its direct messaging service to the Apple Watch via a new, native application. This relaunch restores the ability for users to engage with the messaging service directly from the watch, a feature that had been unavailable for several years. The updated application allows users to read and send messages, view chats, and access various functionalities such as voice messages, stickers, GIFs, and location sharing without continuous reliance on an paired iPhone.

According to official statements, the new application operates independently, functioning on Apple Watch models equipped with Wi-Fi or cellular connectivity. Users can initiate the connection process by scanning a QR code displayed on their iPhone. Previously, Telegram did offer an application for the Apple Watch, with the first version dating back to 2015; however, it was subsequently removed due to factors including low user adoption and functional limitations.

The return signals a significant enhancement to the user experience, allowing for more portable and self-sufficient use of the messaging service directly from the watch. This integration aims to provide a seamless communication experience across the apple ecosystem.
