The 12-year-old was using a Jet Ski in Dhërmi, reacts Minister Llamallari

Albania’s Minister of Interior, Besfort Llamallari, issued a strong warning regarding recent safety violations observed along the country’s coast, emphasizing that strict measures will be enforced against any individual who jeopardizes tourist safety. In a social media post, Llamallari addressed an incident in Dhërmi involving a 12-year-old given access to a jet ski. He characterized this action as both irresponsible and dangerous, stating, “Giving a 12-year-old a jet ski is an act as irresponsible as it is dangerous to the life of the child itself and the tourists in Dhërmi.”

Furthermore, the Minister commented on a separate event that occurred in Ksamil.

This incident involved a boat operator who disregarded established safety perimeters by entering an area designated exclusively for bathing tourists. Llamallari deemed such behavior unacceptable. The Minister’s statements underscore a heightened focus on public safety protocols across Albanian tourist destinations.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that all visitors can enjoy the coastal areas without risk. The warnings cover equipment usage, such as personal watercraft, and adherence to marked boundaries set for public use. The Ministry stressed that compliance with established safety guidelines is mandatory for all operators and individuals engaging in recreational activities.
