The Municipality of Peja, in collaboration with the Regional Water Utility Company “Hidrodrini” and the Ministry of Economy, has finalized a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the city’s drinking water infrastructure. This institutional cooperation centers on the development of a crucial piece of public utility infrastructure designed to bolster the reliability of the local water network. As part of this agreement, a specific plot of land has been secured for the construction of a new reservoir.
This facility will boast a capacity of 5,000 cubic meters and is projected to substantially increase the security and sustainability of the water supply available to the residents of Peja. To facilitate this essential development, the Ministry of Economy has committed a financial allocation of 500,000 euros. These funds are designated to support the development of vital water infrastructure and the overall improvement of public services within the municipality.
The successful securing of the land and the formalization of the agreement paved the way for a subsequent meeting. During this meeting, the Mayor of the Municipality of Peja, Gazmend Muhaxheri, convened with representatives from the partnering organizations to oversee the next steps in the project. The collaboration underscores a concerted effort to modernize the region’s water resources, ensuring a more stable and resilient supply for the community moving forward.
