The Connection of Shëngjini with Ranë e Hedhun, Rama: ‘Bypass’, one of the most important infrastructure investments for tourism

Albania’s Prime Minister, Edi Rama, emphasized the significance of the Shëngjini bypass as a major infrastructure development for the nation’s tourism sector in the north. According to a statement posted on Facebook, Rama detailed how the new bypass will alleviate traffic congestion within the city center. He noted that the improved circulation is anticipated to provide substantial benefits, particularly during the peak summer season.

The infrastructure project is designed to enhance connectivity by linking Shëngjini with Ranë e Hedhun, which in turn connects to Velipojë. Furthermore, Rama highlighted the strategic value of the bypass’s location. Constructed along the Rrënc mountain, the road is expected to function not only as a traffic solution but also as a panoramic route, thereby boosting the overall tourist appeal of the region.

Rama announced that the construction work for the bypass is scheduled for completion in February 2027. This development is positioned by the Prime Minister as a key investment aimed at modernizing transport links and bolstering tourism infrastructure across northern Albania.
