The Council of Public Prosecutors announced plans to hold a competition in August for the selection of the new public prosecutor to lead the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Corruption. This process is scheduled to adhere to legal timelines before the current chief’s term concludes. During today’s session, the council took several other actions.
They elected Zoran Markovski to serve as the basic public prosecutor at the Kriva Palanka Prosecutor’s Office. Additionally, the council appointed new directors to three basic prosecutor’s offices. Suzana Boshniakovska was appointed to Berovo, Darko Cvetanoski to Šen Nikole, and Edmond Sherif to Resnjë.
Furthermore, the Council approved the staffing levels for the public prosecutor positions over the next five years. Under the new systematization, the total number of positions has been set at 261. This figure contrasts with the current number of public prosecutors in office, which stands at 194.
These decisions reflect the ongoing administrative organization within the public justice system. The actions taken by the council aim to ensure continuity and proper staffing across various public prosecutor offices.
