The drug laboratory in Prizren is destroyed, and the Prosecution is seeking detention for the suspects.

The Basic State Prosecution in Prizren, working alongside the Kosovo Police, has reported a significant operation conducted on April 2, 2026. This resulted in the identification and dismantling of a drug laboratory. The operation took place within Prizren, leading to the apprehension of two individuals.

Approximately 300 plants of cannabis sativa were recovered from the laboratory. The investigation revealed that the defendants, M.M. and I.M., were involved in cultivating the plants unlawfully.

Their actions were driven by the intention to produce a substantial quantity of narcotics. The purpose was to prepare these narcotics for distribution and sale. During the inspection, authorities seized a considerable amount of equipment related to the cultivation process.

This included over 700 vases for the cultivation of narcotic plants, alongside lighting, heating, and ventilation systems – specifically motors, transformers, air conditioners, connectors, and thermostats. Furthermore, a growing tray filled with soil and bottles containing growth preparations were also taken as evidence. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes within Prizren.
