The High Judicial Council authorizes the reduction or suspension of work at the Palace of Justice due to high temperatures

The Judicial Council of Kosovo has granted authorization to the heads of the major courts in Pristina—including the Supreme, Appeals, Administrative, Commercial, and District Courts—to implement necessary measures due to the high temperatures at the Palace of Justice. During a meeting today, the heads of these judicial bodies were presented with the option, based on their own assessments, to reduce or suspend court operations. At the session, the head of the Judicial Council, Rrustem Thaçi, confirmed that this authority is comprehensive.

He stated that irrespective of the individual assessments made by the court heads, they possess the prerogative to decide on scaling back or temporarily halting work until the environmental conditions improve. Specifically, Thaçi authorized the heads of the Supreme Court, the Appeals Court, the Commercial Court, the District Court, and the Administrative Court to evaluate the working conditions and the levels of the high temperature. He emphasized that this authorization allows them, regardless of their initial findings, to make the final determination regarding a reduction or suspension of judicial activities.
